Meet Caitlin Shirley
Hi, I'm Caitlin! I've been in the mental health field since 2012, and much of that work involved people in their hardest moments: severe mental illness, addiction, crisis. Sitting with people at their lowest taught me something I carry into every session now: nobody is "too much," and no story is too messy to bring into the room.
Today, I work with people at every point on their mental health journey. Maybe you're navigating a season of depression that's quietly worn you down, wrestling with intrusive thoughts and risk taking, ready to be honest about drinking or substance use, or simply sensing that something feels off and wanting a place to sort it out. Whatever brings you here, my goal is to meet you where you are, without judgment and with a steady, compassionate presence. Healing, to me, is deeply personal and relational. It starts with being genuinely seen and understood.
You don't need the right words yet. I happen to think the figuring-out is half the work.
I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University and am licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia and a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I'm also a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor II. Over the course of my career, I've worked across a range of settings, including eight years in opioid treatment programs, which gave me deep roots in attachment disorders and the ways they intersect with addiction and mental health. I'm a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors and currently see adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout Georgia and Florida.
